FUNCTIONALITY:

What is a Skype Integration?
Skype Integration enables customers to initiate Skype conversations directly from Smartsheet, linking each conversation to its corresponding row. It provides access to the relevant information during the conversation, and keeps a record of the discussion in-context. It also makes it easier to initiate conversations by eliminating the friction of switching between apps.
I was the only designer on the project, responsible for research, UX, UI and usability testing. Project was completed in 3 months

1. Skype Container
Skype App container appears on top of the spreadsheet and provides access to all the Skype functionality directly in the Smartsheet app

2. Availability Indicator
Contact column show Skype availability status for each person. To avoid information overload, status is only shown when user hovers on a row or on a column.

Skype conversations can be started from the cell drop-down menu or form a row menu

This is an optional feature that enables orgs to do more to infuse their voice into the video collections they create by uploading a custom image to each page to set the tone or emphasize the theme of the page

Customers are invited to chat via in-app notifications that allow them join a Skype call from anywhere in the app

When the functionality is first made available, customers are notified via a pop-up that invites them activate the integration by signing in to Skype

Patterns and Ambiguity
One of the main challenges of this project was tracking down a multitude of edge cases, and documenting all the patterns and layouts that were needed to accommodate them
To ensure that all edge cases were accounted for, I conducted an app audit and worked with the developer verify the results.
