How do you turn an inconvenience
into a premium experience?
"While You Wait" enables fans to engage with content and each other as they wait for the book to become available. it channels customer’s anticipation and excitement for an upcoming book release to drive pre-orders before the book is released
My Role:
Came up with the idea of elevating the waiting period into a premium experience
Created requirements and wireframes, and worked with a visual designer to finalize the look and feel of the feature
​Prototyped a detailed walk-through that was demoed in to senior stakeholders during annual planning
PROVIDE ACCESS PREMIUM CONTENT
Leverage customer's interest and offer a a compelling reason to take action and pre-order immediately, now rather than waiting for the book to be released

IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY ON DEVICE
Currently, when a customer preorders a book, they do not get anything added to to their device. "While You Wait" immediately downloads content to the device, providing customers with an incentive to pre-order



ENGAGE WHILE WAITING
Offer engaging activities such as quizzes and games that allows customers to connect with other fans and the social network


GET NOTIFIED WHEN THE BOOK IS RELEASED
As soon as the book is available, it is prominently features on the home page of Kindle. The wait is over, and customer can start reading!
